Mrs. Hogan has been teaching since 1984. She has taught at Farmer School since 1990. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Middle School Education in the areas of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Academically Gifted. She holds a Masters degree in Elementary and Middle School Sciences from UNC-Greensboro. Mrs. Hogan has been nominated for "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" four different years by former students. She was awarded Randolph County's "Academically Gifted Teacher of the Year" in 1996 as well as North Carolina Association for Gifted/Talented "Outstanding Teacher of Gifted" that same year. In 2004 and 2010, she was recognized as Farmer School's "Distinguished Educator" of the year. Mrs. Hogan also received the "FRED Award" in 2011.

Mrs. Hogan enjoys teaching. She has a passion to help children learn and be the best they can be. She has helped with Battle of the Books, Reading Together, Book Talk Luncheons and Math Science Day. Mrs. Hogan had the privilege of teaching the Academically Gifted pull-out program for 4th and 5th grade AG math and reading for 12 years. Since 1992, she has been the Reading Specialist at Farmer.
