Farmer Elementary Service Club is collecting food items for Randolph County CUOC Food Pantry and the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. The food pantry is in need of canned proteins and starches. The food drive will take place from October 27th to November 19th. The homeroom that brings in the most items will get to dress their teacher up like a chicken.

We have to celebrate some fabulous news today! Farmer School attendance average was 99% for today. That means we only had two students out, which is fantastic! We are so proud of our Farmer family!

Farmer's Activity Committee helped staff celebrate the first day of fall by having an Apple Bar. Staff were able to pick their favorite apple, then add additional toppings for a wonderful treat. Thank you to our Activities Committee for brightening our day!

Dr. Gainey, Superintendent of Randolph County Schools, came to Farmer yesterday to read to our first-grade classes. Mrs. Gribble's and Mrs. Markham's students really enjoyed hearing him read the book "The Leaf Thief" by Alice Hemming.

Parents, as we prepare to start another great school year here at Farmer, we have a favor to ask. Please take the time to write your child's name on the inside label of their sweatshirts and jackets. Every year, we take bags of sweatshirts and jackets to The Salvation Army at the end of the school year because we can't find their owners. Please help us return items to the children. Thank you!
