Our 9th graders took part in the Reality Store and a Banking Info Session today!
These hands-on activities gave students a real look at how far a paycheck truly goes—especially around the holidays.

A huge thank-you to Randolph County Communities in Schools for organizing both sessions. Fun and learning were definitely in the mix!

The Randolph County School System was recognized last week at the CTE Directors’ Fall Conference for our students earning 9,443 credentials during the 2024–2025 school year, placing us 8th in North Carolina among 115 PSUs. It is worth noting that the seven school systems ahead of us each serve well over 20,000 students. This accomplishment also reflects an impressive increase of 2,074 credentials from the 2023–2024 school year.

Our school system also achieved a credential attainment rate of 72.45%, representing the percentage of credentials earned out of those offered. Both the total number of credentials earned and our attainment rate for 2024–2025 are the highest in our school system’s history.

A BIG THANK YOU to our students, CTE staff, counselors and administrators who play a vital role in CTE program development and in making credentialing a natural and expected part of their campus culture. While not every credential directly impacts future job placement, each one contributes to building student skills, knowledge, and résumé strength.

After many delays, plot twists, and more hiccups than a fairy godmother with the flu, the Uwharrie Ridge Drama Club is thrilled to FINALLY announce auditions for our spring production of Once Upon a Tower—a hilarious retelling of Rapunzel that we can ensure you have never heard before!

All middle and high school students are invited to audition!
Please remember that grades, behavior, and attendance will play a role in casting decisions throughout the entire production process.

Auditions:
📅 Wednesday, 12/10 and Thursday, 12/11
⏰ 3:00–4:30 PM
Students may attend one or both audition days.

Students cast in the show will be notified by Monday, 12/15 and will have a rehearsal on Wednesday, 12/17 to receive scripts, information, and take part in a full read through before Christmas break.

We are also excited to share that, for the first time ever, our performances are moving out of the gym and to the stage at the beautiful, historic Sunset Theatre in Asheboro on Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th!

Let the comedy and theatrics commence! ✨🎭

Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Luffman’s students cooked their very own Thanksgiving feast!
They budgeted and shopped for their groceries, helped prepare the meal, and—most importantly—enjoyed sitting down together to eat it.

We are so proud of their hard work and teamwork.
Wishing all of our Uwharrie Ridge family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
